Bishop Thompson is the Senior Pastor of the Mount Calvary Holy Church of America, Incorporated (MCHCA), located in Buffalo, NY.  Jurisdictional Bishop of the Mount Calvary Holy Church of the New York State Diocese

Bishop Thompson joined the MCHC in 1979.  Once he joined the fellowship, he became an active member, serving through the early 1980’s in the State Missionary Department.

He answered the call into ministry in the mid 1980’s serving on the ministerial staff of the local MCHC in Buffalo, New York.  His dedicated work in ministry led to his elevation to the Pastorate, and he was ordained Senior Pastor of the Mount Calvary Holy Church of Buffalo, New York in 1988.

To further his effectiveness in ministry, he enrolled at Vision Christian Bible College and Seminary of Orlando, Florida.  He earned an Associate’s Degree in Biblical Studies and a Baccalaureate Degree in Christian Ministry.

In 2005, Bishop Larry Thompson, he was appointed and approved to the position of Overseer for the New York State MCHC by Bishop Harold Ivory Williams, Sr. and Jurisdictional Bishop Frank H. Mixon.  In time, as God in His Holy Providence saw fit, elevated Overseer Thompson to the Episcopal office of Bishop during the MCHCA Winter Empowerment Conferences in January 2008.  In the following year at the headquarters church in Washington, D.C., he was officially affirmed, consecrated and granted the Apostolic Succession as Bishop of the Mount Calvary Holy Church of America.

Bishop Thompson currently serves in the MCHCA, as Bishop of Family Life Ministries and Bishop of the Upstate New York Jurisdiction. He also currently serves as the general secretary of the Western New York Interdenominational Council of Bishops.  He is also a member of the Executive Board of Bishops in MCHCA, and member to the Joint College of African-American Pentecostal Bishops in Cleveland, Ohio.  Bishop Thompson is an accomplished business owner, serving Buffalo, NY for more than 30 years as the CEO of Thompson Construction Company.  An avid fisherman, Bishop Thompson, also serves as chaplain of the Eastside Anglers Association, Inc.

Bishop Thompson has traveled to Liberia, Trinidad, and the Bahamas sharing the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He is the son of the late Mr. Lonnie and Della Thompson.  He has been married to his wife for 39 years, (July 12, 1980), Brenda L. Thompson, who serves by his side in ministry as the State First Lady, and Co-Pastor of the local MCHCA.  From their union they have three daughters and seven grandchildren: Carisa Joy (Randall) Patterson, Monique Joyce Williams, and Courtney Noel (Demetrius) Williams.  His grandchildren from eldest to youngest are: Morgan Craig Williams, Aliyah Joy Patterson, Camille Patterson, Mason Williams, Isabella Williams and twins Estella and Francesca Williams.
